About Me
|
I'm Paul, a 24 year-old studying Physics with Astrophysics at the University of Glasgow. My main interests are in Astronomy and Optics; so I guess that with my honours project being about using lasers to precisely build space based objects I've been rather fortunate. I'm a steadfast lover of classical music, particularly of the works of Tchaikovsky in the Romantic Era. This interest led me to compose music throughout my time at high school and university. I am also a keen observer of soundrack music, with John Williams, Murray Gold and Ron Jones being my all time favourites. Something of a gamer, I really enjoy my RTS games (such as Dawn of War, Red Alert 2 and the old-school classic Age of Empires), some of the big name FPS such as Halo and CoD:MW2, online games like League of Legends, and even a couple of turn based games. I'm more about thinking my way through the problem than shooting through it, so I tend to only play Halo or CoD when I'm with someone else (when just as often we'll be playing Super Smash Bros. on the Wii). As one of the people who gets regularly frustrated by silly plot devices and bad science in movies and television I am a contributer to Uniquely Generic Reviews, where I focus on tearing into the science fiction films and television series. I have to give credit here, as my inspiration for the style of these reviews comes from SFDebris. This website no doubt shows that I am a keen (if not particularly good) kayaker. I tend to focus my kayaking on river-running from spring through to autumn with polo coming to the fore in winter. Having paddled abroad five times in the last seven years, spanning six countrys and nearly fifty differnet rivers, I can safely say kayaking is now a passion. In the last six years, I have played on the Glasgow University Canoe Club's Kayak Polo team in Division 1, Division 2 and SUS - normally as the teams primary goal keeper. Most site's that delve into kayaking in detail seem to go into some detail about the kit that the paddlers use, so I suppose I'll conform and add that to my site too:
Kayak: Dagger Mamba Anyway, that's enough about me, enjoy the site :) |
